An alternative version of the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune on his journey to protect the honor of the Minamoto clan during the late Heian period and early Kamakura period with the help of his trusty retainers, including the infamous warrior monk, Benkei. Sawada’s version was inspired by a late event in Yoshitsune’s journey when he met and requested help from a boy who resembled him to unite with Yoritomo during the Genpei War. Sawada separated Yoshitsune into two unique characters working together to retell the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
